MIRO MADE THIS | CONVO
It was a beautiful Wednesday morning in the desert. I had been thoroughly enjoying this version of winter in comparison to the East Coast. Earlier in the month I reached out to Miro and was more than ecstatic when she agreed to speak with me about her work. And so there we were at Futuro, to get an insight into the work but more importantly the person behind it.
GRACE FARMS | ARC
Grace Farms has themes of nature, organic form, and thoughtful architecture. It becomes one with the surrounding landscape, and pays its respect to the natural beauty. The river building stands alone and coexists with the ground, the trees, and the sky. The curve of the entire structure encourages movement, but creates pockets of closure in each of the volumes. Every person is thought of. The child, the parent, the artist, the elderly. Everyone has a place when the architecture is thinking of them.
THE SCHINDLER HOUSE | ARC
Schindler House is the unsung hero of the west-coast modernist movement, and still stands the test of time. It’s a mindful experience that I find myself mentally revisiting many times - always the result of an incredible architecture.
SECOND PLACE - RACHEL CUSK | BOOK
Rich in detail and in world-building, Second Place by Rachel Cusk delves deep into the heart of what being an artist means and the effects that art has on the maker and the audience. It explores themes of regret, love, life, and death, so poignantly.
UN HOMME ET UNE FEMME | FILM
What does it mean to remember the past? What does it mean to let it go? What does it mean to open the heart once again? To what lengths does one go? This film presents questions for the mind as well as the heart.
